Erasmus Mundus Masters in VIsion & roBOTics
2 years master starting on 1 September 2006
The master course aims to provide qualifications for entry into the professions in the area of robotics, computer vision, image processing and medical imaging either in public laboratory or private research company. Over 4 semesters (120 ECTS), the students attend three universities, where all the classes will be taught in English. An introduction to Scottish, Spanish and French culture and language will be proposed to the students. The student population will be between 30 and 40 per year. The average ratio professor/student relation is approximately 1:5.
VIBOT students are required to cover the areas of studies below, over the total of 120 ECTS:
basis of signal and image processing: software, hardware;
tools and methods of computer vision: compression, segmentation, real-time, shape recognition, 3D vision, etc;
robotics: fundamentals, control and programming for robot autonomy and intelligence;
medical imaging: biologic basis, infrared imagery, X-Ray and ultrasound imagery;
research training period or a vocational training period.
Each university articulates its offer of courses on the basis of its own approach, in such a way that the students can benefit from different cultural and scholarly flavours.
The first three semesters will successively occur in:
